Brancepeth lays about 5 miles south west of Durham and it is the home tower of Durham University Society of Change Ringers. In 1998 St Brandon’s interior and roof were destroyed by fire. The fire resulted in 3 of the bells having to be recast. After an extensive restoration of the church services and ringing resumed in 2005.
