Wednesday Practice – 7:30pm to 9:00pm
For approximately 25 years from the mid-seventies onwards the bells were not rung at all, they had become almost impossible to ring and it was regarded unsfe to do so.
In May 2009 the bells were removed from the tower and taken to Whitechapel Bell Foundry for a full refurbishment. On their return in later that year, the bells were rehung in a new steel frame and all new fittings.
